POWER STEERING
Oil Specification:
• Operating Pressure: Typical stock steering boxes operate between 1,200-1,400 PSI. High-performance or heavy-duty systems can reach 1,400-1,600 PSI.
• Flow Rate: Standard pumps provide 2.5-3.5 GPM (Gallons Per Minute). Quick-ratio steering systems require higher flow rates, often 3.5-5 GPM.
• Fluid Viscosity: Typical kinematic viscosity is around 35-40 cSt at 40°C and 7-12 cSt at 100°C.
• Fluid Specifications: Many systems use fluids that meet ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) specs, such as DEXRON® II, DEXRON® Il, or Ford MERCON. Electrical (EPS): 12V nominal voltage, 9V-16V operating range, with a rated current of 6 ÷ 2.0A.
• Temperature Ranges: Fluids usually have a flash point over 200°C and a pour point below 39°C.
